Barefoot MailmanPosted by Susan (Pompano Beach, by Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States) on 17 April 2010 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio. The Barefoot Mailman walked the beaches of South Florida between Palm Beach and the Miami River, 40 miles by foot, and additional 28 miles by various boats. The round trip took from Monday thru Friday. The most famous of the Barefoot Mailmen was Ed Hamilton, who disappeared at this inlet with only his clothes and mailbag left behind....not a trace of him ever found. This original stone statue now stands where boaters going in and out of the inlet can view him..... Going to pick up my ribbon and $50 gift certificate for a restaurant tonight......for my 2nd place win in the photo contest!! Yeah !!!! VERY COOL (IRIS) WAY TO VIEW ALL MY IMAGES HERE !!
